Eric Gewirtz earned his Bachelor of Music in percussion performance and his Bachelor of Arts in journalism/strategic media from Arizona State University in May 2004. On Nov. 11, 2010, Gewirtz assumed the position of director, media and public relations, at leading music publisher Boosey and Hawkes, representing composers such as John Adams, Steve Reich, Elliott Carter, Magnus Lindberg and Osvaldo Golijov, among many others. He will work in the company's New York office, representing these composers throughout the Americas.
Since graduation, Gewirtz has held the title of assistant director, public relations, media and touring at the New York Philharmonic, promoting the orchestra's endeavors worldwide, including tours of Asia, Europe and the U.S.
Gewirtz occasionally can be heard performing in the percussion section of the Greenwich Village Orchestra in New York.
