Educational Equity Cohort
Promoting equity, inclusion and belonging in learning and teaching
The School of Music, Dance and Theatre Educational Equity cohort brings together faculty with campus thought leaders in educational equity for the development of pedagogical and curricular initiatives that promote equity, inclusion and belonging in learning and teaching within Music, Dance and Theatre.
Through a year-long engagement that includes seminars and one-on-one peer coaching, cohort members will train to lead in advancing educational equity at ASU and beyond. In addition to piloting, developing and applying revisions to their individual teaching practices, cohort members build communities of practice in which to envision expanding equity, access, justice and inclusion throughout the School. Guided by Associate Dean for Culture and Access Melita Belgrave, the cohort also undertakes a process of dream seeding and harvesting throughout the year, imagining and enacting more equitable presents and futures in our learning spaces.
