Academic Associate, String Project Administrator - School of Music, Dance and Theatre

The School of Music, Dance and Theatre at Arizona State University seeks a part-time academic associate to begin in fall 2024 in support of our String Project Program. This position will be located on the Tempe campus, as well as includes remote work.

Principal duties for the Academic Associate include serving as program administrator include coordinating space reservations, preparing and distributing registration materials, maintaining program website and registration database, communication with instructors and registrants, planning and leading a beginning-of-semester information meeting and end-of-semester performances. The Academic Associate, String Project Program Administrator is also responsible for interviewing, hiring, and assigning student instructors in the program, in consultation with ASU faculty.

We are especially interested in applicants who are dedicated to advancing the ASU Charter and realizing ASU’s Design Aspirations.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years teaching beginning and intermediate string instruments.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills; computer and media/technology skills.

Desired Qualifications

Experience administering both school programs and multi-school music festivals.

Experience with databases and record keeping.

Experience managing schedules.

Familiarity with ASU’s String Project Program.

Demonstrated excellence in teaching in a public-school class setting.

Attention to detail.
