Music Computer Lab

music-computer-la

The Music Computer Lab opened in 1992 when the ASU Herberger Institute School of Music, Dance and Theatre doubled its existing facilities. Equipped with iMac computers, MIDI devices, recording equipment and specialized software, the lab functions as a tool for teachers to integrate digital technology into the classroom. During open lab hours, the space is available to music majors for general use.

Experience the space

Each workstation is equipped with state-of-the-art Macintosh computers. All stations have multi-timbral MIDI Alesis QSR sound modules, keyboard controllers and as audio recorders. Almost all periphial equipment can be controlled from the computer, permitting simple and precise editing, mixing and synchronization. In the classroom, students work not only with industry standard programs for general computing needs, but also use professional music applications.
