A degree in Strings

A world-class program of study

One of the most dynamic places for string study, the ASU School of Music, Dance and Theatre provides a balance between the rigors of traditional university training and use-inspired learning to help students forge careers in the arts in the 21st century. Students are immersed in a curriculum that provides extensive faculty and guest artist interaction, while working on projects that develop both specific skills for each instrument, as well as more global skills to be leaders in the musical community.

Our faculty is active internationally, engaged as performers, lecturers and master clinicians, making their teaching current and relevant. Our students come from all over the world, and regardless of specialization, they share a commitment to exploration and discovery. Check out our innovative Visiting Quartet Residency Program where you get to work and perform with the leading string quartets in the world. Feel free to contact any of our faculty for more specific information regarding your instrument.
